Why We Ask for Registrar Details

To move your domain, DBM provides you with a secure transfer code (called an EPP code). This code allows your registrar to accept the domain into your account.

• If you already have a registrar account, sharing your registrar name and account ID helps DBM guide the process and confirm the domain lands in the right place.
• If you don’t have a registrar yet, DBM can handle this for you. We’ll set up a registrar account on your behalf and ensure the domain is delivered safely into it.

Hosting Is Not Required

Owning a domain name is separate from hosting a website.

• You do not need hosting to complete the transfer.
• Hosting is only required if you want to build a website on your domain.
• Many buyers simply hold domains for branding, investment, or email services — and transfer works the same way.

Your Role in the Transfer

• Have a registrar account ready (or let DBM set one up for you).
• Keep your email address current — transfer confirmations are sent by email.
